ADS/Online Conversion Architecture

All IDMS ADS/Online dialog conversion includes generation of a multi-tiered architecture that ensures each replacement dialog performs exactly as the original ADS/O:

• Presentation Layer
  • Replace ADS/Online functionality formerly handled by the IDMS ADS run-time system
• Map Edit Layer
  • Perform editing and formatting functions formerly handled within the IDMS map and the ADS/Online run-time system
• Business Layer
  • Replace IDMS process modules formerly stored in the Integrated Data Dictionary
• Database IO Layer
  • Perform SQL database access and updates

Conversion of IDMS ADS/Online applications also includes replacement of components that are not specific to the ADS/Online language itself:

• ADSA Structure Definitions
  • Application flow-of-control replacement module
• ADSA Security
  • Application subsystem delivered in language of choice to replace the security processing formerly handled by the IDD and ADSA
