Convert to C# .NET

The ATERAS .NET conversion solution takes fourth-generation languages (such as Adabas Natural and IDMS ADS/Online) to C# .NET, providing the same functionality, look and feel. Because the existing mainframe fourth generation languages are somewhat object-based, the transition to full object-oriented processing is straightforward and results in applications that are concise and easy to maintain.

With the conversion to C# and .NET, the resulting applications use Windows Forms and operate as smart client applications. All existing mainframe code is automatically converted. Any services provided by the mainframe teleprocessing monitor (IDMS-DC and Com-plete) are replaced automatically with service requests to a replacement framework provided by ATERAS.

The ATERAS conversion solution provides for full use of the Windows Communication Foundation (WCF). If web access to the new applications is required, Terminal Services Web Access (TS Web Access) will allow users to start Terminal Services remote application programs from a web browser.
