Overview

DB-Shuttle™ uses the customer source code as data within its massive SQL Server database. It analyzes and manipulates that data during de-construction of the legacy databases and applications, and construction of the replacement relational databases and applications.

The .NET solution is an important addition to the DB-Shuttle™ Automation Technology. ATERAS already provides powerful automated migration solutions that convert older applications and databases. The business case for .NET Framework legacy migrations has never been more compelling, particularly in a highly competitive global market, where moving to Web-based applications is the bottom line.

Leveraging Your Legacy Assets

ATERAS has integrated Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005 into its Microsoft .NET Framework- based solution. DB-Shuttle™ will automatically migrate mainframe applications and databases to up- to-date languages and database management systems.

DB-Shuttle™ helps companies migrate applications away from proprietary environments to modern technologies such as Microsoft .NET in support of an “off-mainframe conversion solution.”

DB-Shuttle™ supports an automated conversion of IDMS, IMS, Datacom, Adabas and VSAM Mainframe databases and applications to a multi-tier .NET environment.

DB-Shuttle™ assesses and analyzes the mainframe environment and its application, automatically converts the databases, applications, and languages while assuring the integrity and completeness of the converted data, and completely tunes the new environment for optimal performance. This includes converting older applications to new languages such as Microsoft VB .NET 2005 and C# .NET 2005. When a migration to the .NET Framework is complete, a client will have functionally equivalent, seamlessly integrated applications and Web capability that provide a greatly reduced cost structure, improved business agility, and new technical capabilities.
